Week-end at Punaauia
My wife and I are staying at the Manava Suite Resort Tahiti, it is a brand new hotel that opened on march 1st 2009. The hotel doesn't offer rooms to its guests but apartments, that is very useful for traveling families or when you are staying in Tahiti for a while and you don't really want to spend your time eating in restaurants.
We have a nice apartment with a view on the swimming pool that is next to the lagoon. The apartment is almost twice as big as our Parisian "pied a terre", it is going to be tough going home.
Life here is more expensive than in France, for the regular french guy buying food will cost you twice as much as in Paris even though you are only buying everyday things like cheese, delicatessen, cereals, milk, water...
Once the food had been bought, we have spent the week-end by the swimming pool improving our sun tan, reading a good book and sleeping.
I started working this morning, i don't work by the see unfortunately but every night i will be able to go take a dip in the swimming pool.

From Our Room
First there is the swimming pool with its rows of chairs, then you can see the blue lagoon and in the rear is Moorea island.
In the evening the sun goes to sleep behind the island; on the days when the clouds do not hover over the mountains you get a really nice picture.
If some of you are interested, we have a sofa bed in the living room.

French Three Strikes Law Rejected
It seemed impossible but it happened today. After an easy vote in the senate followed by a much more complex review in the parliament which actually saw the main part of the law being voted by only 16 people, the law has been rejected after review by a committee composed of senators and representatives. One can explain this situation by the fact that the text was purged of every addendum that would make the law less hard on internet users.
Of course the government won't be defeated and is already planning to represent the text of the law unmodified by the committee (in 2 or 3 weeks). If you feel at all concerned by this issue, you should contact your representative (you will find him here) to explain that you are for an internet that is not at the mercy of the music and movie industry.
